Running for Oxfordshire Reading ACs Jess Gibbon won the UK Inter-Counties Cross Challenge in Wollaton Park, Nottingham on Saturday 7th March, making it two victories in a row at the event. After a difficult year, especially over the track season Jess and two other athletes managed to pull away from their rivals to give a three way battle. Although Jess began tofall away on the penultimate hill, she managed to claw back the gap and going into the final lap started to pull away decisively.
Other Reading AC athletes competing for their counties at the event were Sarah Holmes also in the senior women’s race. Wilf May, Noah Mazieres and Raph Odlin who helped the Berkshire U13 Boys to the fouth place team position. Katelyn Gillan competed in the U13 Girls event with Alice Haldon and Victoria Marsh going in the U15 Girls. Elsewhere Fergus Rennie and Lucy Rennie competes in the U15 Boys and U17 Women respectively with Lucy also competing with Abha Panda and Anna Nicholson. In the U17 Men Nolan Chenchery competed and Maddox Gillas competed in the U20 Men. Well done to all athletes .
