Meanwhile, Reading Ac's cross country youngsters were out in action this past Saturday as they represented their school in the Berkshire Schools cross country championships, held, as usual at Wellington College, Crowthorne.
The initial aim for the athletes, was to secure a top 16 spot in their race and gain a place in the Berkshire team for a fortnight's time to compete in the South East Schools Counties race.
However, some had intentions of grabbing medals and they duly did so.
18 athletes secured their selection for the next round and 5 medals were gained, including gold medals for Kirsty Walker and Matthew Rawlings.
