Latest News.....

Reading's Southern Women's league side continued their 100% record as they produced a convincing victory over 2nd placed Basildon by some 35 points. The results on the day were superb. Particularly U13 Freya Tubb who stepped up to U15 competition and beat the U13 club long jump record. The middle distance girls excelled greatly with no less than 19 personal bests through-out the senior and u15 middle distance events.
Elsewhere the men made a long trip to North Devon, however the trip was made all the more worthwhile as the team secured a well deserved victory. Despite being under-strength, they all rallied together to secure their first league victory of 2009, having finished 2nd in their previous 3 fixtures.

This weekend....

ThBoth the men's and women's senior teams are in action this Saturday. However their fixtures could not be more different. Whilst the women enjoy a home fixture in round 3 of their season, the men are travelling to Braunton, North Devon for their 4th match of the season!
At Palmer Park, the current league leaders of the Premier Division of the Southern Women's League - Reading, entertain 2nd placed Basildon as well as 14th and 15th placed Brighton and Thurrock.
The men, who are currently placed 5th in the league, should be favourites on paper, as they are by far and away the highest placed team with the remaining clubs all in the bottom quarter, however, host club, North Devon Ac will no doubt be using home advantage to good effect. The other club's in the match are 18th placed Newbury, 22nd placed Swindon and 24th placed Woking.
Elswhere during the course of the weekend, many Reading athletes will be representing Berkshire at the Southern Schools Multi Event Championships at Kingston Surrey.
