National Young Athletes League
This league is for U13, U15 and U17 Athletes, both male and female.
The club have enjoyed many
highlights in this league, not long after the formation of the boys league in the eitghties, the then Team Manager, Jim Oates,
guided Reading's male side to the National final on back to back occasions in 1987 and 1988. Two years later the girls league
was introduced and they had numerous decent spells, but yo-yo'd between the Premier Division and Division One, as did the
male side for much of the Nineties.
Since 2003 the league has seen the male and female teams score for a combined result,
the club have enjoyed the odd season in the Southern Premier, but had been unable to maintain a regular position in that league.
They then however again gained promotion back into the Southern Premier Division, having won the South West One
Division in 2007. In 2008, in a season they expected to just consolidate their promotion into the Southern Premier, they infact
became the surprise package of the season and just missed out on a spot in the Auxiliary Final by 12 points, beating
some noteable scalps along the way. In 2009, the club went one better and secured a place in the Auxiliary final of the league
and to much joy, won the Auxiliary final by a massive 110 points.
