Latest News.....
A number of Reading Ac athletes made their way to Basildon, Essex this past Saturday as they were representing Berkshire Schools, in the South-East Counties cross country fixture. Many, were hoping to perform well enough and gain selection for the Berkshire squad of 8 per age group, that will contest the English Schools Championships next month.
Reading's Jonny Davies cut a dominant figure in the final race of the day with a very convincing victory over his nearest rivals. Whilst Callum Gregory and Ben Priddle performed well in the U17 men's race. Beki Taylor and Rosie Bishop enjoyed good performances in the U19 girls race, whilst Isaac Farnworth also gave a very solid account in the U15 boys race.
Elsewhere, a vast number of Reading youngsters were competing in the WSEH Indoor open meeting on Saturday and there were some encouraging performances to suggest that winter training was going well, none more so than Jack Hatton who lowered his previous 60mh best down to 8.56, which is a UK age 15 all time best.
