Latest News.....
Natalie Beale, Georgia Lamothe, Coral Stewart and Charlotte Webb all stepped up
to U20 level this past weekend to join Shakira Whight who all competed for Berkshire at the Southern Inter Counties U20
Championships. Georgia showed no worries in competing against the older athletes as she produced a stunning victory in the
200m final. Natalie took silver in the 400m with a new club record time, in only her 3rd race over the distance. Shakira
secured the silver in the triple jump event, adding yet another medal to her collection. Charlotte finished a creditable 11th
in the shot with Coral taking 7th in the hammer.
Also at the weekend many athletes were involved in the reschueduled Radley Open meeting and
saw an abundance of medals come their way.
News in Brief.....
Reading Athletic Club say goodbye to
one of their popular young member's shortly, as under 15 middle distance runner, Charlotte Gibbs is moving with her family
to Abu Dhabi for 2/3 years. Charlotte and her father Graham, who coached at the club, are popular members of the club,
Charlotte herself had quite a good few years since joining Reading 2 years back. Last track season she was the club's top
u13 distance runner over 600/800, winning numerous races, with her 600 time placing her inside the top 20 in the uk. She also
got her name in the record books as she was part of the club record breaking u13 4x100 team. Charlotte soon become a vital
part of the cross country team and was past of the scoring 4 of girls who claimed the Berkshire team title back in January.
This season, Charlotte has produced some good races and she and her family will be sorely missed. The club wishes Charlotte,
Graham, Debbie and Carl the best of luck with their new life and hopes that one day Charlotte may yet make another appearance
in the Reading Ac vest.
